If you have an ear to the ground, you've heard the rumblings. What will bring down the storm? Will it be a union thug like Hoffa? Will it be flash mobs of the entitlement tribe?
People are waking up and they're waking up angry.
People have seen their Republic hijacked, its citizens hung out to dry.
Bank frauds are rampant and seemingly untouchable, operating behind a wall of secrecy. It's the worst possible excuse for making the same mistake over and over. I heard it a lot when I worked in the manufacturing industry. While trying to make the best of machinery, manpower, methods and material, I would hear that damnable phrase.
People are resistant to change. They don't like a hiccup in their routine. Its comforting and familiar, sort of like the litany at mass.
Now it shows up in the House of representative as a rebuff to junior representatives.
It's obstructionist to refuse to compromise. If you stand on you principles, you won't get anything done.
Bullshit.
The go-along-to-get-along RINOs and Barack Hussein Obama can shoulder the blame for putting us where we are. The last thing we need is more mutual backscratching from the liberals and the weak sister Republicans. Why do the Republicans feel they must compromise and trade with the "fundamental reformation" of our once-proud nation?
I tell you there IS NO NEED to compromise. Putting our collective feet down is easy. Its even assisted by gravity, people! We showed our dissatisfaction with the House of representatives in 2010. It was as easy as voting. We didn't vote the establishment line. We didn't go along to get along. We played by our own rules.
There is no reason or excuse to continue to 'deal' with the progressives. Call us obstructionists, but call us long distance. The days of smoke-filled back room deals are over. True transparency will "fundamentally transform" some on capitol hill from from shady representatives to inmates at a federal prison. So be it. The push for true transparency means we can see right through the smoke and mirrors of legislative obfuscation and double-dealing. No more compromise. "Because we've always done it that way" is the worst possible excuse to keep doing something wrong.
-30-

SHARING THE WEALTH

Its attributed to Margaret Thatcher the following: "The trouble with socialism is you eventually run out of other people's money." Apparently the Obama administration thinks it won't run out of our money. It keeps demanding more of it in the form of more and higher 'revenues'. When Obama told Joe the Plumber "We need to share the wealth" he apparently didn't realize the wealth he wants to spread around is limited by over-regulation and pervasive taxation on businesses just like Joe's. Joe won't be able to expand his business because his payroll is taxed to the point of a workforce reduction. Think I'm kidding? Ask the owner/operator of a mine in Georgia who gave up after over-reaching regulation and taxation forced him to abandon plans to open a mine that would have employed as many as 150 operators paying each as much as $150,000 per year. He said "I give up."

How does this administration expect to keep spending at current levels when its policies destroy the very source of those revenues? Its the revenue equivalent of "The beatings will continue until morale improves". This 'sharing the wealth' will continue until there is no more wealth. The only thing to share then will be abject poverty just as in every socialist nation in history.

The answer is to hock every resource inside the borders of the United States to foreign investors.
I have heard from quite a few concerned seniors and veterans in the last few days. The concern stems from the President's suggestion that Social Security and other benefits won't get paid in the absence of a deal to raise the debt ceiling. This is a scare tactic, pure and simple.

Spending on Social Security, Medicare, veterans' benefits and our troops has already been authorized by Congress, and the President has the authority to continue funding these priorities. If he chooses not to, it will be his decision and his alone.

As Sheriff, I always had a contingency plan - hope for the best, but plan for the worst. My hope is that the President won't play games with your Social Security check, but his current posturing doesn't inspire much confidence. Instead of just throwing in the towel and hoping it all works out, Congressman Webster and I are taking action to make sure that seniors and our troops continue to get all that they have earned.

The legislation we introduced would not leave it up to chance. It would force the President and Treasury Secretary to prioritize remaining revenues to ensure that the troops get paid, that Social Security, Medicare, and veterans' benefits continue to be paid, and that America continues to pay its debt.
There clearly won't be enough revenue coming in to pay for everything in the federal budget, but there will be enough to pay for these priorities. To see how this would work, please visit my website at http://nugent.house.gov/. I no longer live in your district but I appreciate your concern.
My concern is a very real one. We are, as it has been said, only nine meals away from anarchy. As a former law enforcement officer, you are well aware of what happens when individual needs are not met. There are people who will take the law into their own hands or ignore it altogether.
When, not 'if', this president withholds funding for entitlements, people who never so much as dreamed of breaking the law will be more than willing to do whatever it takes to feed their families.
Worse than that, the entire U.S. economy will collapse under the accelerated inflation and abrupt halt of cash flow.
In short, we are nine meals from anarchy. While some of us have made preparations, we are in the minority. I fear there will be a national emergency of epic proportions, unimaginable in its scope and magnitude.
This president has clearly demonstrated his willingness to ignore both the house and the senate. I don't believe any legislative efforts will deter him from his destructive policies. He will tell you so in no uncertain terms. In a recent address supposedly to praise the CIA, he used the pronoun “I” thirty-five times.

Yes, it is a matter of pride.

What this author is referring to is pride in you, pride in his fellow citizens. You have been tolerant throughout this, the most cavalierly corrupt and blatantly dishonest administration in the history of our country. You have been stoic through the worst economic times since the Great Depression. You have shown grace and tolerance far beyond the limits of any other nation. Our citizens have met adversity with resilience, loss with charity, and suffering with humor characteristic of our proud nation. You are the most inventive, industrious people on the planet. You are a nation of firm handshakes and solid eye contact. You give without a thought of repayment. You respond to emergencies without a thought for your own safety. You respect the rights and property of others. You stand for our anthem and cherish our flag.

You do yourselves proud, and unlike some people, you’ve been proud of your country all your life.

The Ben Bernanke Explained

This is far too good to keep to one's self. The murders of nine people by Omar Thornton was racially motivated.
According to Thornton's mother, he said in a phone conversation directly after the killings “He said, I killed the five racists that was there that was bothering me,’ ” and “'He said, The cops are going to come in so I am going to take care of myself.’ ”

After shooting his co-workers, Thornton hid as police moved in. He called his mother, who tried for 10 minutes to talk him out of killing himself, his uncle Will Holliday told reporters.

Relatives say Thornton, 34, finally cracked after suffering racial harassment in a company where he said he was singled out for being black in a predominantly white work force.
That appears to be not the case. Thornton was caught stealing. He didn't dispute the fact. He was caught on videotape stealing beer. After seeing the video of himself he did not dispute the claim. He signed the letter of resignation then stood up, went to the door, turned and started shooting.

According to other employees, Thornton was not singled out for harassment because he was black. According to the business owner there was no racial bias or discrimination of any kind at the distributorship.
Now comes the media, tut-tutting over how sensitive this issue will be.
I call bullshit. Chauncey DeVega at Alternet says we should 'handle this story with care'.

Nonsense. Thornton was a thief, he was black, he got caught red-handed, he decided to
"kill the five racists that was there that was bothering me." He packed two pistols in his lunchbox and made a lethal decision. It wasn't manslaughter. It wasn't accidental. It was premeditated murder committed by a black man who felt racially slighted. He knew there could be no possible redemption for his crime and took his own life.

It was a racially motivated crime. Pure and simple. Those of you who want to tap-dance around the glaring facts need to man up. Those of you who want to say "Nothing to see here, move along" need to stop giving black-on-white crime a pass. Those of you who want to shove this under the rug before the next news cycle should know: stories like this are no longer going to die quietly. In the light of recent racial tensions, this ugly, tragic story has legs. As it plays out, it can only get uglier.

Cynicism Has Replaced Ennui as the National Mood.

While presumably born on this Earth, (if not certain just where on the planet), Barack Hussein Obama is at such a disconnect from the citizens of the U.S. that it appears he is in an orbit entirely his own. A total lack of any experience outside of community organizing translates to an administration that leaves us shaking our heads and counting the days to November.

I'm counting the days to January 20th, 2012.

Clark Kent, Kryptonite and the Liberal Press

Andrew Breitbart tweeted yesterday a warning for liberals to "get some rest. Tomorrow's going to be a long day".
Breitbart obviously had forewarning of the Daily Caller's release of more Journolist shenanigans.

When I was a kid, Clark Kent was a real reporter. He was brave and honest, but he had a secret: His alter ego. This alter ego fought for truth, justice and the American way. He could fly, he had x-ray vision, Lois Lane wanted his babies, and he was indestructible.

Or so he thought.

It turns out he had a fatal weakness: Kryptonite.

Flash forward to today's reporters. They also have a secret. A generous majority now fight for spin, social justice and liberal politics. They pretend to see into the mind of the public, they advocate killing babies and they're indestructible.

Or so they thought.

Now comes the Journolist revelations. Kryptonite for today's Clark Kent. It seems the perceived liberal bias of the mainstream media is very real. There was a concerted effort to squash stories unflattering to the left. There was a very real plot to slant the news to favor the Obama campaign and minimize the damaging stories from the Wright church.
Read more: http://dailycaller.com/2010/07/20/documents-show-media-plotting-to-kill-stories-about-rev-jeremiah-wright/3/#ixzz0uEZsscFf

There was another such effort to label as racist those who disagreed with the Obama narrative. To quote the Jonathan Strong article in the Daily Caller: [Spencer] Ackerman did allow there were some Republicans who weren’t racists. Ackerman: “We’ll know who doesn’t deserve this treatment — Ross Douthat, for instance — but the others need to get it.”

Sort of belies the term 'mainstream media' doesn't it? Sadly the press has not been mainstream for a very long time.

Kryptonite, indeed. I only hope this news goes 100% viral. I hope this scorches every monitor on every desk in the world. Every laptop, notebook and web-enabled phone should be smoldering with this story. Please pass along the story. Not necessarily my blog, but share the link, go to Daily Caller and read it. Then pass it along.

And the most delicious part?

Its not over.

The Unbearable Whiteness of Being

The white guilt trip is over. Unpack your luggage, sit on the lanai with a highball and don't get up. It's not that I'm unmoved by the awful events of the past that defined racism in its modern terms.

I just didn't participate in those events.

So don't lay the guilt trip on me and don't play victim. When you play that dog-eared race card, you're in the wrong game. You're trying to draw to an inside straight while everyone else has moved on to blackjack.

The NAACP, by playing that marked card, has labeled everyone in the Tea Party movement as racist. The once-noble organization has fallen to the level of race-baiting, name-calling and baseless accusations. Worse still, that same organization appears to have ties to the New Black Panthers.

The more shrill they become, the more intense the spotlight on their activities and associations. Something like this video just released by Andrew Breitbart.

USDA official Shirley Sherrod

The very same people who would call me a 'redneck' would deny ever having had a plantation mentality. So what if my neck is so red it glows in the dark?

If people put as much energy in their personal ambition as they do promoting a slave mentality, there would be no need for affirmative action.

Like I said, I don't feel the need to wring my hands over how people treated each other before I was born. I never owned a plantation. I've never owned a slave (I'm not that old) and I wouldn't know what to do with one if I did. I didn't ship slaves, I didn't broker them, I didn't buy or sell them. The closest I've come to the bulk cotton business is cleaning the dust bunnies out from under the bed.

Don't try to force me on a guilt trip. That train already left the station. No, if you're looking for white guilt, you've come to the wrong party. Try a liberal and take along some kool-aid.

Cheers!

Bloggers; The Desaparecidos of the Internet.

73,000 blogs were shut down by order of the government in a sweeping move of what is reportedly a copyright infringement case. So why the blogs that were not involved in the alleged movie or music piracy? That's painting all on the blogetery with a wide brush.

Many fear this is the opening salvo in a battle for control of the internet.

During the Nixon administration, radio stations carrying anti-Nixon shows suddenly had difficulty getting their FCC broadcast licenses renewed. Could this be a defense out of the Nixon playbook?

How many of the 'disappeared' blogs were critical of this administration? How many we aggregators in the vein of Matt Drudge? No, I don't smell a conspiracy in everything, but this has a stench to it and it ain't roses.

The over-reaching grab for power over the internet has been closing it's ugly fist for some time. The idiotic proposal to tax email and a national tax on internet sales were but a few of the clumsy attempts to regulate something ungovernable.

I think I was most surprised to find the president was mandated authority to shut down the internet "in the interest of national security" (where have we heard that before?). Now the NSA is monitoring the internet allegedly for cyber attack warnings much like the echelon system. The NSA does not have a mission inside the borders of the United States.

So far, no reason was given for the blogetery server shut down other than 'repeated abuse'. Apparently Word Press has been enjoined to a gag order.

Shouting the Unspeakable

Race war.

There. Imagine the pain and horror, blood, death and destruction.

Imagine the grief and heartache.

If it happens, the blame will lay squarely on the administration of Barack Hussein Obama.

This so-called administration has done nothing but fan the flames of racism by word and deed. Its as if they had some Machiavellian plan to encourage race hatred. Knowing full well the NAACP would condemn the Tea Party as racist, Michelle Obama addressed the gathering.

Her appearance is tacit approval of the declaration. The DOJ was ordered not to prosecute cases with black defendants and white plaintiffs. Now that same DOJ has enjoined the state of Arizona in a lawsuit condemning a state law (modeled on the federal law) for racial profiling. It failed to prosecute a slam-dunk case involving the black panthers and voter intimidation. It dropped the ball when it came to a clear-cut case of hate speech threatening to "kill some crackers and kill some cracker babies."

How to start a war? Threaten mama grizzlies' cubs.

Don't take the bait, ladies. I've been posting on a site that was founded in reaction to a threat to 'cracka babies'. The site is heavily populated with women who make clear in no uncertain terms their intentions should anyone come between them and their cubs. Ladies, please don't rise to the empty threats coming from street thugs who obviously need to compensate for some inadequacy. Their thug lives are so cheap it makes it easy to threaten others.

If I believed in conspiracy theories, I'd say this was a great opportunity for a false-flag operation. As convoluted as that sounds, it fits within the dictum "Never let a crisis go to waste."

How did we come to this?

The disconnect, the discontent, the distortion

There is a growing body of evidence of the disconnect between this administration and the voters. Mort Zuckermann just admitted to writing one of Obama's speeches. Now, Zuckermann states Obama is "barely treading water".

I see it as circling the drain.

It's as if the administration of so many 'smart people' have given up any chance of re-connecting with the voters on any level. Passing legislation to 'see what's in it' had us slack-jawed at the audacity of the house. Following that with lies about the legislation they passed and backpedaling from 'misstatements' just begs the unreality of liberal thought. Their narrative was and is based on the theory of the Big Lie.

Now, as the voters rise as a body to protest the antics of the Obamaniacs, the convenient but dog-eared race card comes out. Tea party participants are labeled as evil racists by the NAACP. Rather than taking a responsible stance to defuse that bomb, Michelle Obama attends an NAACP rally to encourage blacks to "greater intensity". The same Michelle Obama quoted as saying "I'll be damned if all this fabulosity is going to go to waste reading Dr. Seuss to snot-nosed kids all day." (January 23, 2009). The same Michelle Obama that said "Dessert is not a right". It may not be a right, but I'll be damned if I'll give up the privilege because I was scolded by some gal with an ass like a Ford Taurus.

Obama appointed Charles Bolden to head NASA . Bolden promptly told Al-Jazeera Nasa' prime mission was to enhance the Muslim image. After the immediate negative public response, the white house defended Bolden's statement. Now, it appears (according to WH spokesman Gibbs) he 'misspoke'. It harkens back to the Nixon white house when lies were "statements no longer operative".

We have sociopath in the oval office.

Numerous articles have surfaced concerned with Obama's mental health. Little wonder we scratch our heads at the stumbling, stammering speech when he is caught without a teleprompter. Laura Ingrahm in her new book (The Obama Diaries) quotes Obama saying "They actually bought it when I promised a more perfect union. Hey, I AM the more perfect union."

Perfect if you are a union thug, illegal immigrant or a black panther. The stance this administration has taken on these issues alone is exactly 180 degrees out from public opinion. This 'more perfect union' is like a flywheel spinning so fast as to approach its design limit. When it comes apart the result will be catastrophic, painful and permanent. The only thing exceptional about this great nation will be its precipitous fall from first rate to third world.

A Moveable Feast

This administration is like a smorgasbord. I don't know where to start. Its a veritable buffet of gaffes, goofs and one-liners that make the last 18 months look like a gag reel from a sitcom. When I feel like weeping for my country, I just read the news. No, I don't laugh. I just fall in to a deep depression. Its like the study that found children aren't really amused by clowns, but in fact are frightened by them. The clowns in this administration have little entertainment value but they scare the hell out of me.
I guess its because I'm just a big kid.
Or are they really that frightening?
The short answer is yes.
I think its hilarious that Hamad Karzai prefers McChrystal over Obama. Now what does the president do? The disaster that is killing the Gulf of Mexico has been handled with the same sense of comic timing as a 1930's MGM musical.
Only no one is laughing.
The only people who show guts and initiative are local administrators. Hats off to Governor Bobby Jindal. Clown-in-chief Obama placed a moratorium on drilling and had it blocked by a judge. Then he doubled down on stupid with a second attempt to stop drilling ala Ken Salazar.
The supposed stimulus package only stimulated corruption on a scale that staggers the mind. An example comes from Florida's phantom 86th district .
$3.5 million on 6 jobs in a district that doesn't EXIST? Just where did that money go? That's only one example.
Now the clowns have enjoined Arizona in a suit against Arizona's Sb1070, a law modeled directly on federal law. Explain that one!
These frightening clowns have giggled their way through the last year an a half. They are reminiscent of the Carter administration, their feet on the white house furniture like so many punks partying while the adults are out.
The whole buffet table has started to stink to high heaven from the internal rot that is now becoming evident from the flies.

Hit 'em where it hurts

Illegal aliens could teach the government of the United States a thing or two about living within a budget. They come here for low-paying jobs, live frugally and still manage to send money back to the folks in Mexico.

Can I just say we're missing a big chance to tax the Hell out of money transfers and money orders? It could be enacted on the state level. Levy a 20% duty on all wire transfers leaving the state. All money orders would require an ID. If the purchaser can't prove residence, the money order is subject to a 20% tariff.

Tough enforcement of immigration law will only serve to drive illegals out of border states to sanctuary cities. Those cities should be billed for each illegal caught and removed from within the city limits by the federal government. The same goes for businesses that hire illegals. Bill the businesses for the amount to deport the illegals in their employ, plus a hefty fine. Pay up or padlock your doors.

I think you can see where this is going.

The fastest way to stop an illegal activity is to make it unprofitable. The very fact his Attorney general failed to prosecute the black panther case tells of his covert racism. Now NASA's mission includes pandering to the 'religion of peace'.

We needed an example of sycophants inflating an empty suit to national stature. His lack of experience is blatantly obvious, now even to the main stream media.

We needed to know how bloody awful socialism really is. Sixty percent of those polled now want Obamacare repealed. Can you keep your current health care plan? The president promised you could. Well, it turns out you can't after all. The administration scoffed at the idea of 'death panels'. Well, it turns out you may be 'evaluated' for the level of care you receive. Do you have a pre-existing condition? You may have the sympathies of the administration and little else.

We needed to see the destructive foot-dragging on all fronts that cry out for immediate action. We needed to see the failure to secure the border with Mexico. We needed to see the unbelievable bureaucratic mess that is the Gulf 'clean-up'. We needed to see our allies denigrated and our president bow to those who denigrate us. We needed to see our foreign policy eviscerated and left to die.

We needed to see just how badly the left has degenerated to elect this poor excuse for a man.
Now, the patriots of this country should record this mistake in detail. I pray they will teach this to every young person in every school that accepts federal funds.

I hope you will join me in a prayer for our Republic.

When to say "We can't afford you"

I look at the United Nations as a 30-year-old druggie living in his mom's basement. Never accomplishing anything, never moving faster than a glacier. An untidy heap of lost ambition and a sad excuse for existence. This adolescent is high on money he doesn't deserve and fed with funds we can no longer afford.
We shovel money into this loser and we get absolutely nothing, not even thanks. In fact, we've been berated for not giving enough!
Its time to throw the bum out.
I could rail all day at the deficiencies, the corruption and the foreign intelligence nested in that building, but the simplest reason to send it packing is a fiscal one.
We just can't afford it.
This from the "Better World Campaign" website "dedicated to a better UN/U.S. relationship":
"Currently, the U.S. is assessed 22% of the UN regular budget and 26% for UN peacekeeping appropriations. Remember, this is only the tip of the iceberg.

Statement by Timothy E. Wirth, President of the United Nations Foundation, regarding 2009 Omnibus Funding for United Nations Peacekeeping:

“After nearly six months of operating on a Continuing Resolution allowing for flat-lined funding to keep government services functioning, I am deeply concerned with the final appropriation of $1.517 billion for United Nations peacekeeping activities. This figure will leave the U.S. a staggering $669 million short in meeting our assessed peacekeeping needs for FY 2009."

Peacekeeping? For our boy living in Mom's basement, that just means another bong hit of funds from our pockets.
No, son. We just can't afford you.
Here's bus fare to the shelter. When Arizona wins, it will cement the idea of protecting our borders legally and forcefully. Exerting 10th amendment rights of the state will have gained traction and a win in court will be the sand under the wheels of enforcement. The reassertion of state's rights is at the core of this controversy, not immigration. State's rights extend to so much more and the federal government is frantic over the loss of control over the states. Frankly, I couldn't be happier. They know exactly what they're doing. The disastrous blowout of the Deep Horizon rig is a crisis they can't afford to waste. An opportunist president with an agenda will use this awful event to further his destruction of our economy. How? He will press for the fatally flawed cap-and-trade legislation that promises to raise energy prices to unsustainable levels. The result will be a strangled economy, choked to death by a cascade of price increases and job losses.
Why is he dragging his feet? Why has he apparently dug in his heels when it comes to Gulf clean-up?
Because it advances his agenda.
Mark these words, only after a cap-and-trade is signed will the administration make any concerted effort to clean up the oil.
If then.

This is especially painful to me. Florida has been my adopted home for 26 years. Its where I love to scuba dive and photograph wildlife. Because of the inaction of this administration, that may all be gone.

This administration is holding the Gulf hostage by foot-dragging and petty micro-managing (such as the supposed lack of life jackets on the oil-removal barges).

Just don't accept any promises from this administration. Remember, this is a dangerously destructive sociopath in the oval office. He's a habitual liar and fraud.

THIS AIN'T NO PARTY, THIS AIN'T NO DISCO...

What must be ultimately frustrating to the left is the fact that the Tea Party movement is just that. It is a movement and NOT a political party. The left has frantically searched for and in some cases tried to invent leaders of the so called 'tea party'. So far, the best they can do is bash the organizers of various tea party events. Ironic, since this is as close to community organizers as tea party activists get. That's fine with the tea party movement. The left can waste its time looking for the leaders of a leaderless movement.
Meanwhile, the movement will come to the very people who demonize it: Washington, D.C.
On Thursday, April 15th, Washington will get another look at the Tea Party movement. No doubt, Barack Hussein Obama will be out of town as he was during the last storming of D.C. This will be up close and personal. It will be surprising if these participants aren't armed with torches and pitchforks.
Remembering president Bush hung in effigy, it's surprising Barack Hussein Obama hasn't been given the same treatment. But then, that would be so raaaaacist. Actually, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Barack Hussein Obama should be hung together (in effigy) so it could be called an 'equal opportunity lynching'. Will someone get to work on that? I suspect that will be seen at a Tea Party sometime soon. It would be worth it just to make Chris Matthews' head explode.

Yes, that's Senator Baucus (D) Montana. The more cruel among us might say he is channeling Ted Kennedy. Now, this is no freshman senator. No, this is the architect of the health care reform bill. This senator doesn't just sit on the senate finance committee, he chairs it. If you or I showed up on the job in this condition, we would be peeing in a cup and almost immediately fired! Why are these clowns held to a different standard? What I'm getting at here is; this is supposed to be a leader of our Senate and representative of his constituents. He crafted the health care bill. He is chairman of arguably the most powerful committee in the senate.

Oh, yes. I'm aware it happens on both sides of the aisle. Because legislators from both sides of the aisle show up drunk doesn't excuse it. Senator Baucus better hope his stay in rehab is covered by the Senate's health care plan. But then, the senate in its foresight probably provided for that a long time ago.

This little episode gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "drunk on power".

Somebody do an intervention.

My fellow Americans, I’m proud to bring you this announcement, one that I believe will be of great import to the people of Florida and in particular those citizens of the 86th district. I have to thank Ginny Brown-Waite, Representative for the 5th congressional district. She uncovered and reported a gross waste of nearly eighteen million dollars of taxpayer funds used to develop the website Recovery.gov that is providing erroneous and inaccurate information. Congresswoman Waite used an example of $3 million dollars spent that supposedly created five jobs in Florida's 86th district. The problem, she pointed out was Florida has only twenty-five districts.
According to web site recovery.gov, the administration not only created jobs for the 86th district of Florida, it created the district itself! Miraculous!
And so, it had to happen. I’m so encouraged by recent support for my platform (both people who read it agree) that I have decided to run for representative for the 86th district of Florida. If our president can claim to have campaigned in all 57 states, I can run for the 86th district.
Hell, yes! I can’t lose, running on the assumption that no one will run against me. After all, how many people in the 86th district will disagree with my political philosophy? That is, throw the bums out and give me a chance (to be YOUR bum).
If you don’t like that philosophy, I have others.
I pledge that if elected, I will find those five workers, the 3million dollars and the answer to your question: “Where the Hell is the 86th district?”
I can hardly wait to represent those upstanding, hardworking people.
To quote the late, great Pat Paulson, “I’m just a common, ordinary, simple savior of America's destiny."
And I’m a community organizer!
And I don’t need a teleprompter.
I’m Mike Florey and I approve this message. And that’s one for the Republic.

By accepting compromise on the health care reform act, both sides of the aisle have merely watered down the evil. Starting out with bad legislation, it was stripped of the most egregious crime and left a gutted, rotting corpse of a law no one wants now, not even the left.

I've said it before and I will repeat it until someone proves me wrong: The old paradigm is dead. There is NO REASON TO COMPROMISE on law that makes no sense. There is no reason to compromise on bills that are unworkable, unwieldly and ultimately unconstitutional. The age of compromise is dead (or at least it should be).

Of course, if you question compromise as a political tool, you'll hear things like "We've always done it this way.' or "That's the way things are done." as if that was an unwritten rule of the go-along get-along lawmakers without the spine to just say "NO!"

Because "we've always done it this way" is the worst possible excuse to keep doing something wrong.

It was a pyrrhic victory for the administration. It was passing law for the sake of appearance. Just because you can pass a law doesn't mean you should.

I strongly suggest the lawmakers go home for the Holidays and grow a pair! Don't come back until you can demonstrate the courage of your convictions and stand up for your principles, if you still have any.

For the Republic

Mike Florey

Baroken O'Rolex

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 380px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_25dskeHMgQc/SyO1nFaweVI/AAAAAAAAA7k/2Z5LyAZs82c/s400/fake+rolex+mickey.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5414370860103399762" />
According to Bret Baier writing for Fox News “court documents say White House party crashers Michaele and Tareq Salahi tried to pay off a $2,000 landscaping debt with an expensive designer watch that turned out to be broken — a fake — and worth only about a $100.”
That’s seems symbolic of everything associated with this entire administration. “While the president was missing from the Copenhagen concert and many of the other Nobel events, a replacement was found. A cardboard cutout version of the American leader was seen on stage during a charity benefit concert Thursday.”
I’m surprised anyone noticed the difference.
This entire administration is like that Salahi watch; a fake Rolex.
Maybe more like a ‘tribute’ rock band. NOT THE REAL BEATLES, BUT AN INCREDIBLE SIMULATION! You’ll hear what you expect, but somehow it isn’t quite right. Something doesn’t ring true.
At the Nobel peace prize presentation an appropriate band would have been a ‘tribute’ version of WAR. It wouldn’t be Lonnie Jordan and David Archuleta but “an incredible simulation!”
Just like the war in Afghanistan, this president would have you believe it’s not a war, but an incredible simulation.
On the very face of it, trying to justify war while accepting a ‘peace prize’ is the ultimate hypocrisy.
Trying to justify astronomical deficit spending in the midst of a depression is just as bad.
Continuing to spend our treasure and spill the precious blood of our troops on people who don’t appreciate it is worse.
And just like that watch, this administration is broken—a fake—and worth less than $100.

CNN: The Blonde Leading the Bland

In a commentary written for CNN by Rudy Ruiz he asks us to '"keep an open mind". It appears on the surface to appeal to our better nature and consider the opposing point of view. He compares it to a national illness of closed minds:

"As people shout over each other and tune out diverging views in town hall meetings, the health care debate is proving to be symptomatic of a major ailment threatening our nation:

A contagious culture of closed-mindedness threatens to suffocate our progress as a society."

There are times when we aren't justified in doing something just because we can. Sometimes the only reasonable answer is "NO". If the people have made their will known, who has the right to second-guess them? Should the legislature ignore the citizens and vote for the bill? Do they know best what's good for us?

Mister Ruiz writes a pretty good plea. It appears that the socialists have been reduced to pleading. Well, I'll keep an open mind.

I just won't let my brains fall out.

The answer is still "NO".

MOB RULE!

Congressmen and senators, most notably from the left side of the aisle, have complained of citizens at town hall meetings. They have called the protesting people AstroTurf (meaning a false grassroots movement) or a mob led by the right wing.

Now, by definition a mob is leaderless. So, if we belong to a mob, we don't have a leader. Our congress is supposed to show leadership, so by calling us a mob, they imply they don't lead us.

Now THERE'S a conundrum only a beltway lawyer could untangle.

Frankly, I'm disappointed. I guess I give too much credit to the legislature. I gave them credit for more than calling there own constituents names and denying them a voice. Is it any wonder the most recent Gallup poll shows 66% of those questioned disapprove of the job congress is doing? There are only about4% undecided.

What does that tell us?

It tells us the 30% that do approve must live in Ron Paul's district.

Ron Paul speaks to packed houses while other congressmen have canceled their town hall meetings or have retreated to scaled-down, staged, scripted events and phone conferences!!! Ron Paul attends enormous public picnics and barbecues while his counterparts are hiding in their offices and sending out for MacRibb sandwiches.

Again, what does that tell us?

It tells us the mob is getting louder and more effective every day.

To quote a Kenneth Mars line from Mel Brooks' "Young Frankenstein": "A riot is an ugly thing...and its about time we had one!"

"General Strike reporting, Sir!"

One of the sites I go to regularly has raised a question. What are the ramifications of using a general strike as a form of protest?
Here? In these United States?
Why that's nearly blasphemous. Isn't it? Well?
Yeah, it kinda is.
And I think that is where its power lies. Suppose it started on the Friday before labor day and extended to the following Friday? Suppose everyone withdrew their cash from the banks on Thursday night before the strike?
I propose the strike carry the message to end the Federal Reserve bank and return the issuance of moneys to the legislature. Just me thinking again.
What would your message be?
And please, keep it clean and thoughtful.

Note to self: Labor day week would be perfect for a general strike. The whole of Labor Day week including 9/11 memorials and then the 9/12's tea parties!

That "God Damned Piece of Paper"

I remember and you probably do too, the furor over President Bush's reaction to one of his aides. The aide was pointing out (correctly) that certain of the administrations actions were unconstitutional.
"Stop throwing the constitution in my face!" he screamed "The Constitution is just a God damned piece of paper!"
Sadly, it appears that attitude still prevails in the oval office. The latest string of bills appear to be nothing less than an end-run around the Constitution. The expansion of power of the federal reserve, the cap and trade bill, both signal this administration's willingness to ignore any Constitutional litmus test.

Judge Andrew Napolitano read the 85-page 'wish list' published by the Obama white house working group. It was the judge's opinion that "the white house would consider the Constitution as no obstacle to the administration of their goals".

We are subject to warrantless wiretapping, warrantless search and seizure, suspension of habeus corpus and indefinite incarceration without benefit of council.

That "piece of paper" has recently been riddled with bad judgment and corruption at the highest levels.
This administration appears to be no better equipped to uphold or defend the "God damned piece of paper" but instead to ignore it or eviscerate it as it pleases.
This writer fears the worst.
Our Constitution is no longer the law of the land.
